Biography

Amanda first came to DSC as a student in 1996.  She began a career here in 2010, after working eleven years in a R&D/Tech Service lab in Dalton's carpet industry.  She enjoys working with the faculty, staff, and students to coordinate and prepare Chemistry labs and upper level Biology labs. She also has a passion for teaching, and really loves the students here at DSC. She is an active member of several clubs on campus, including Beta Chi Nu, the Chemist Society, and the Outdoor Club. When Amanda is not on campus, she spends her time volunteering with the Cherokee Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, Chattanooga, TN.  She appreciates the opportunity to work with such gifted young men in the OA, Scouting's National Honor Society.  When she is not Scouting, Amanda and her son enjoy paddling the Hiwassee River and camping together.
